Garden Fail Of The Week
My garden fail for this week:
While attempting to harden off my orangelo thyme, I managed to kill it.
Let me start from the top.
I have had a rough time trying to start this orangelo thyme. It didn't have the greatest germination, and then the second time it sprouted it suffered from dampening off and died. I planted a few more seeds and one sprouted. Third times a charm, right? I was so excited as it continued to grow, and them branching off. I transplanted it out of its starter pot and into the pot that it would be in. It was looking so beautifully! I was thrilled that growing this orangelo thyme was finally succesful! And then I started hardening it off. *dun dun dun*
It was going so beautifully! It looked like it was thriving, and then happened, on the third day I set it outside in a different spot than usual. Huge mustake! We left to run errands; we were gone about half of the day. We arrived home and I went to outside to do a walk through. And that's when I saw my thyme. The sun was beating down on it. It was all withered and wilted.
I immediately moved it out of the sun and brought it inside. I gave it some water and hopes that it would somehow revive it back. It's been a few days at this point and I think I've accepted that it's dead. It's not coming back to life.
I will sow more thyme seeds and try again. I will not give up!
Here's to the growing the orangelo thyme; for the fourth THYME (pun intended).
Happy gardening!
